Jasmyne Spencer, Angel City FC star and founder of sustainable lifestyle brand Jas It Up, is taking her climate justice activism to a new level with ‘Jasmyne Spencer Presents: Runway to Sustainability, Powered by Angel City FC.’

The breakthrough 6-week curriculum program, a partnership between Angel City Football Club, Jas It Up, Klarna, Section Z, L.A.C.E.R. Afterschool Programs, Loopt Foundation, and EcoAthletes, is teaching relevant, real world lessons about the climate crisis and the climate opportunity to LA middle & high schoolers through the prism of fashion. Surprisingly to many, the apparel industry is responsible for between 8-10% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Not surprisingly, the hands-on program, which just finished the second of its six weekly lessons, is a big hit with the students because fashion is fun…And, as the students are finding, making their clothes more sustainable is even more fun.

Runway to Sustainability features a clothes swap and a fashion show, featuring the students modeling the clothes they’ve repurposed before the September 27 Angel City FC game vs. Washington Spirit.
